There is no truth, only different views. One is that all religions are equally valid. Another is that they are equally invalid. The view of Islam is that Jesus was not the son of God. The view of Christianity is that Islam is a form of Arianism; the heresy, in this case, that Jesus was not the son of God.
Those serious about their relativism take all these views with equal seriousness--since, in particular, the pretension that science has proven that religion is primitive nonsense is itself only an ancent prejudice, a version Eliatic Monism, the hypothesis that the cosmos is made of grains of matter and that change is an illusion. This view, known today as Scientism, offers no explanation about the source of the cosmos (or, to the contrary, the nature of infinity) or the nature of awareness (which might as well be illusory). This, of course, does not prove it is wrong; and anyway it is not a crime to be mistaken, or should not be.
Meanwhile approximately 4 billion living-breathing-feeling human beings do not subscribe to either of these two would be world conquering religions (or rather tribalistic cults) and their totalitarian agendas.
ReplyDeleteThey both pretend that they alone possess the one true faith/way/revelation and that they have a "divine" mandate to convert EVERY one else to their "one true way".
Such is effectively a declaration of war against ALL other Faith traditions and their various (many) cultural expressions.
Both of these totalizing traditions have always been involved in a never-ending series of DELIBERATELY created wars, and are now gearing up for the final showdown for "global ruler-ship"
Plus thy have both always used whatever means they could to achieve their totalizing agendas.
Truth IS the Self-radiant Beauty, or Self-existing Brightness, of Being--Self-evident, Self-Realized, Self-manifested, full, indivisible, and inherently sufficient.
There is no religion greater than Beauty Itself!
Where there IS always already only Beauty Itself--one and indivisible, AS Beloved of the feeling-Heart--what religion could possibly OWN the Holy Brightness, that transfigures every figure like a Midnight Sun?
Ah! Well, we are glad to learn that relativism does not reign supreem, even if foolishness of other kinds does.
